The KWiSE NY/NJ chapter held a virtual youth summer camp on August 6, 2022, from 9am to 12pm. The program’s theme was “Magic of Nanoworld.” Mara Nanotech (CEO HeaYeon Lee) hosted the camp, which was sponsored by the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA), and National Nanofab Center Korea. 30 students, ranging from grades 8-12, were given nanobiosensor kits by Mara Nanotech ahead of time and split up into five groups during the camp. The experiment was led by artificial intelligence. While the students waited for the results of the experiment, guest speaker Dr. Hak Soo Choi presented on the topic “Shine a Light on Cancer: Bioimaging and Nanomedicine”. After the experiment, students discussed their interpretations. At the end of the three hours, each student received a completion certificate.
